Sandra E. Gomez-Luna, MD, FAPA, DFASAM, is a 1989-graduate of The Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Her postgraduate training includes her general psychiatry residency served at New York Medical College and St. Vincent’s Medical Center in New York (1992-1996). Dr. Gomez-Luna then performed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital (1997-1999), where she served as Chief Fellow. Furthermore, she completed an advanced addiction psychiatry fellowship via a Research in Addiction Medicine (RAMS) Scholarship (2013-2014). She attained board certification in psychiatry and the subspecialty of child and adolescent psychiatry with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Gomez-Luna is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (DFASAM) and Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA). Furthermore, he is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the American Society of Addiction Medicine, and the American Academy of Addiction. Dr. Gomez-Luna is a member of the editorial board of The Carlat Report: Addiction Treatment and a member of the newly formed Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee at the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP).
